Are you thinking of buying an electric motor for your boat? We will help you choose the right one.
How will you use the boat and electric motor?
The first thing to consider is how you use your boat today and how you want to use the electric motor. How far do you sail? Do you want to sail fast or cruise when fishing?
Where should the electric motor be mounted?
A front-mounted electric motor is mounted at the bow and is usually controlled using a remote control. By mounting the motor at the bow, the stern will not be as cramped if you already have an engine. A stern-mounted electric motor is mounted at the stern and controlled with a tiller. A stern-mounted electric motor is a good option if you have a smaller boat without a motor.
Are electric motors resistant to salt water?
Some electric motors are not designed for use in salt water and can therefore be damaged in salt water. All of Biltema’s electric boat motors are salt water resistant. A tip is to always rinse off the motor rig with fresh water after taking the boat into the sea.
